The Utilities Book has comprehensive fire safety instructions. Please take a quick note of the following:

Please familiarise yourself with the layout of the property and the grounds. In case of an emergency, make sure you know where the main exit doors are.

Please note that there is no smoking in any of the properties or on the grounds at Gitcombe.

~ Make sure all electrical appliances & lights are switched off before going to bed OR leaving the property.

~ Locate fire extinguishers & fire blankets and familiarise yourself with the instructions.

~ Candles are not permitted in our properties. Please do not use them during your stay.

~The Utilities Book has comprehensive log fire lighting and safety instructions

~ Matches & fire lighters are placed in your log baskets for your arrival. Always keep out of the reach of children.

~ Never leave the cooker unattended.

~ Log burners and open fires must be lit by a responsible adult.

~ Make sure the fire guard is always used.

~ Close the door of the room where the fire is – this will help delay the speed of the smoke spreading.

~ Get everybody out safely and go to the fire meeting point located on the tennis court.

~ Phone the fire brigade by dialling 999 as quickly as possible. Congregate on the tennis court.
